On 19 July 2026, Intertek designation under Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 was extended to third-party verification of Article 7 (carbon footprint) and Article 8 (recycled content). That was the last gap. Intertek (NB 0413) now holds assessment scope across every Article of the Battery Regulation that requires a Notified Body and, based on current designation lists, is the only body in the world to do so.

  • Article 6 - Restricted substances
  • Article 7 - Carbon footprint
  • Article 8 - Recycled Content
  • Article 10 - Performance & durability
  • Article 12 - Safety of stationery BESS
  • Article 13 - Labelling & Marking
  • Article 14 - State of health & BMS Data
